US prosecutors are investigating activist investor Carl Icahn's former role as an adviser to President Donald Trump and his attempts to change an environmental rule he opposed, David Benoit and Ted Mann write for The Wall Street Journal.
In December 2016, Icahn was tasked with advising Trump on overhauling federal regulations. Icahn did not have an official government role, he and the White House have said.
