A clear divide in investor appetite for equities emerged on either side of the Atlantic in August. Europe clocked up a net increase in funds flowing into equity exchange-traded-funds while simultaneously US investors pulled money from equities and ploughed it into fixed income instead.
According to the latest statistics released on September 7 by data provider ETFGI, equity ETPs - including exchange-traded-funds - garnered net new assets of $7.8 billion from European investors last month, withstanding the impact of widespread equity volatility in China's stock market throughout large parts of August.
