US law firm hires Goldman partner as chairman

US law firm Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson has rehired David Greenwald in a senior leadership role. Greenwald is currently a deputy general counsel and international general counsel at Goldman Sachs, but will return to the law firm as co-chairman alongside current chairperson Valerie Ford Jacob until February 2015. From March of that year, Greenwald will lead the firm as chairman and Jacob will become senior partner. Greenwald joined Goldman's legal department in 1994, later rising to partner in the firm. Before his stint at Goldman he worked for Fried, Frank on M&A and private equity transactions.
