The US House of Representatives voted to impeach outgoing President Donald Trump 232 votes to 197 following the violence and siege of the Capitol last week after it was stormed by a mob of pro-Trump supporters.

It is the second time Trump has been impeached by the House – making him the first US president that has suffered the humiliating process twice.
