Vega Asset Management, a Spanish hedge fund manager, has raised $1bn (€840m) of assets through a joint venture with Spanish bank BBVA.

The joint venture, Proxima, will be managed from Madrid, London and New York. BBVA has a 51% stake in the firm, Vega has 49%.
