Investors' confidence in European venture capital is lagging reality, according to the latest results from a venture capital firm and industry research.

Prelude Trust, a closed-ended technology venture capital fund, said in its interim results for the six months to September 30 that after a difficult number of years it had made four trade exits in the period and there was now a lot more optimism in the sector.
