UK bankers at PJT Partners are working on a multibillion-dollar takeover for Verizon Communications that marks the first public advisory mandate for the US boutique since it opened the doors of a Mayfair office 10 months ago.

Verizon's $2.4 billion agreed bid for Irish-headquartered but New York-listed GPS vehicle-tracking firm Fleetmatics is another win for PJT's founder Paul Taubman, who after leaving Morgan Stanley went on to advise Verizon on its $130 billion acquisition of Vodafone's stake in Verizon Wireless in 2013.
