Automatic enrolment is a great start – and the opt-out rates across the industry of 10% is a testament to the success of that policy, at least based on initial indications – but we realise there is a long way to go. There are some issues that need to be addressed such as consolidating small pots and ensuring high standards of governance in automatic enrolment schemes, but the government, and others, are seriously considering these issues as recent consultations show.
