Vince Cable: Don’t shut stock markets amid virus panic

‘There is no reason why shareholders should be specially protected or have market information hidden from them,’ former Lib Dem leader tells FN

Shutting down the stock markets in response to the coronavirus crisis would be a wrong move, according to former business secretary Sir Vince Cable.

Cable told Financial News: “Unlike 2008, this is not a crisis of the financial system nor is there some short-term malfunction.
