Goldman Sachs and Société Générale are understood to have put the IPO of Vivendi Environnement, the water and waste division of Vivendi, on ice until next year in the wake of Vivendi's talks to acquire Seagram in Canada. Vivendi had initially planned to raise as much as 𔚽bn from the IPO which had been slated for July or September. One banker in Paris said the deal would most likely be postponed as a result of the September talks.
