UBS has secured its fifth mandate in 15 months from Vodafone, the UK telecoms group whose other traditional adviser is Goldman Sachs.

UBS is advising Vodafone in discussions to buy the Czech and Romanian operations of Telesystem International Wireless, a Canadian telecoms group, for around $4bn (€3bn).
