Budding sporty types from across the City were at it again this month as teams from firms including Goldman Sachs, UBS, Freshfields and financial recruitment specialist Selby Jennings gathered at Canary Wharf’s Reebok Centre for what was billed as a light-hearted evening of sitting volleyball, but Notebook understands turned into a rather more competitive affair – unsurprising, really, given the intensely competitive nature of the firms involved.

The event, which raised £8,500 for the Whizz-Kidz charity, pitted a dozen teams against each other, including two from Selby Jennings.
