Morgan Stanley International chairman set to retire

Walid Chammah, a 19-year veteran of the firm, plans to leave early this year

Morgan Stanley International chairman Walid Chammah plans to retire from the company early this year, according to an internal memorandum sent to employees.

In the memo, reviewed by Dow Jones Newswires, Morgan Stanley chief executive James Gorman said Chammah, a 19-year veteran of the firm, told him in September of his intention to step down.
