JP Morgan Chase has made its first major appointment in its European leveraged finance business, appointing Tom Walker as European head of financial sponsor coverage.

The role, which largely involves advising and winning financing mandates from private equity firms, is the same as the one he has held at Chase since early 1999, as head of European leveraged finance. Walker joined from Chase's New York leveraged finance team which he had worked in since the early 1990s.
