The blockchain start-up backed by most of the world’s largest banks has selected the technology team that will be tasked with developing distributed ledger products for the finance industry, and signed up five new backers.

New York-based R3 has hired former IBM executive Richard Gendal Brown as managing director and chief technology officer, the start-up has announced.
