Sir Roger Carr, the chairman of BAE Systems, has spent the past 15 or so years closely watching his daughter Caroline’s career as she moved from top City law firms to Goldman Sachs to private equity firm Permira.

Seeing how she got on was one reason that he ended up becoming closely involved with a number of women’s initiatives, including becoming one of the first men to join the women's campaign group the 30% Club.
