Warburg Pincus has $5bn war chest for global deals

Warburg Pincus, the US buy-out firm with $9bn (€7bn) in private equity assets, has earmarked $5bn for global deals.

It has traditionally invested in mid market and development capital deals in Europe, but a spokesman said on Tuesday: "You can expect to see us being more active in the large buy-out sector in Europe." The firm has $5bn to deploy from its global and international funds.
