A merger between the UK’s two leading crowdfunding platforms Crowdcube and Seedrs could result in a “substantial lessening of competition” in the sector, the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority has said.

The watchdog said that blocking the transaction altogether may be the only way to address the concerns.
