US-listed Watson Wyatt & Co is set to pay $451m (€345m) for its sister UK-based consultancy Watson Wyatt LLP in cash and shares.

A spokesman declined to say how much each partner will receive as a result of the bid, although the share and cash consideration would average out at £2.25m ($4.2m) apiece.
