It appears that many people still feel their cash is safer at home than in a bank. That’s not much comfort for wealth managers.

A story recently did the rounds in the UK about a pensioner who donated his suitcase to a Salvation Army shop, only to be told by his wife when he got home that it contained £60,000. As yet, he has not retrieved it.
