Reuters is to deploy a "thin-client" version of Reuters 3000 Xtra, its latest information service product which is hosted centrally on a client's site, after more than a year of development.

Reuters 3000 Xtra, the company's premium real-time desktop display application, has traditionally only been available on a dedicated terminal basis. This meant that clients had to install separate hardware for 3000 Xtra on site, as well as telephone lines or secure internet protocol network services for communication.
