Wells Fargo bolsters investment banking launch via Wachovia buy

Wells Fargo has formed a new investment banking and capital markets group following the completion this month of its acquisition of Wachovia, which it expects will contribute a greater proportion of revenues to the group.

San Francisco-based Wells Fargo finalised the $12.6bn (€9.2bn) acquisition of Charlotte, NC-based Wachovia on January 1, according to Dealogic, the investment banking research provider.
