Wells Fargo hires 25 Citadel investment bankers

Citadel, the trading company founded by Kenneth Griffin, has tried to build an investment bank for three years

Wells Fargo yesterday said it agreed to hire 25 investment bankers from Chicago's Citadel in a push to expand its investment banking business.

Citadel also assigned to Wells Fargo all the deals the 25 bankers were working on, including its role as one of many underwriters on the Groupon initial public offering, people familiar with the situation said.
