Wells Fargo has promoted a former Citigroup dealmaker it hired last year to head up its European financial institutions group to co-lead its coverage of the banking sector globally.

Rahul Rajesh, who spent nearly 19 years at Citi before joining Wells Fargo in June last year, has been named global co-head of banks coverage alongside US-based Jeff Bachler, according to an internal memo seen by Financial News.
