Don Russell, former Australian ambassador to the US and special adviser to Paul Keating, Australia's former prime minister, has joined WestLB Asset Management (WestAM) in Sydney.

Russell joins WestAM as head of business development from Bell Asset Management in Sydney, where he was a partner. He was also previously with Sanford Bernstein, the New York-based money management and research company.
