WestLB, which has lost three heads of its bond syndication business this year, has promoted Roger Spooner to the new head of the desk. It fills a month's gap since former co-head Glen Davies quit to join the bank's securitisation subsidiary, Brightwater Capital Management.

Spooner becomes head of the bond syndicate and frequent borrower group within WestLB capital markets. He was previously managing director responsible for corporate bond origination.
