Chancellor of the Exchequer Philip Hammond will on November 23 unveil the Autumn Statement – the government’s first substantial fiscal policy announcement and economic briefing since the UK’s June vote to quit the European Union.

The Treasury has said Hammond will set out a new fiscal framework to give the government flexibility to respond to changing economic conditions and the need to invest in the economy's productive capacity.
