Nikos Stathopoulos was named as an FN100 Rising Stars 2008 when he was a member of the investment committee at BC Partners. Just one year later he was promoted to a managing partner position at the buyout firm, which has recently been making waves with the largest European fundraising since the collapse of Lehman Brothers.
Greek-born Stathopoulos, 41, was instrumental in the BC-led acquisition in 2008 of Migros Turk, the biggest supermarket chain in Turkey, for 3.9bn Turkish lira . He also led the acquisition of Greek hotel and casino operator Regency Entertainment, previously Hyatt Regency, for €1bn in 2006.
