Whistleblower reports to FCA on ‘unacceptable’ workplace culture spike in 2019

The numbers come as firms struggle with the hurdles posed by Covid-19 and could see an increase in reports again this year

Whistleblowing reports to the Financial Conduct Authority on workplace culture issues have shot up by 35%.

The sharp rise for 2019 could be down to the growing awareness of “unacceptable” business practices featuring in the press over the last few years, according to investigations and compliance consultants Kroll, who published the figures following a Freedom of Information request to the regulator.
