Whistleblowing falls again in the City of London

FCA reports a second successive annual fall in the number of City employees speaking up on wrongdoing

Whistleblowing reports to the UK's Financial Conduct Authority have fallen for the second year in a row, despite efforts by the regulator to encourage the reporting of bad behaviour.

The FCA confirmed today that it received 866 reports of wrongdoing to its whistleblowing team in 2016, compared with 1105 reports in 2015 - a fall of more than 20%. In 2014, the there were 1367 instances of wrongdoing reported to the financial regulator's whistleblowing team.
