Nigel Whittingham has become the latest to join the exodus from Edinburgh Fund Managers, which he has left to take up a post at Insight Investments, the fund management arm of HBOS, as managing director of the firm's multi-manager business.

Whittingham was the group business development director at EFM and had been at the firm for the best part of a decade. He will join Insight in May and report directly to Gary Mairs, the firm's deputy chief executive.
