Labour’s new leader Kier Starmer finalised the lineup of his Shadow Cabinet late on 9 April, shortly before the Bank Holiday weekend — naming his new spokesman for the City and finance, amongst several other ministerial jobs.

The opposition’s new shadow City minister is an experienced centrist MP who has held several ministerial briefs focused on business and finance, and served on the Treasury Select Committee.
