Thomas Gottstein, the newly minted chief executive of Credit Suisse Group, has more than 20 years under his belt at the Swiss bank.

As chief of Credit Suisse’s Swiss operations since 2015, Gottstein, who came up through the investment bank in London, has been closely involved in outgoing chief executive Tidjane Thiam’s cost-cutting and restructuring plan.
