Who should pay for Covid-19 tests at work?

Most large companies are self-insured, pay their own health-care costs, and have flexibility on how they pay for workplace screening programs

Connecticut manufacturing company Mott hired an urgent-care clinic in May to regularly test workers for Covid-19 to avoid workplace outbreaks and give workers peace of mind. The medical group asked the company’s insurer whether testing costs would be covered.

The answer was no.
