Why inflation is here to stay: ‘Transitory does not mean one, two or even 12 months’

"Transitory" is a word that has rarely left the inflation conversation over the past six months.

In the US, however, Federal Reserve chair Jerome Powell and Treasury secretary Janet Yellen are starting to change their tune. Both have said they now believe people should stop using it to describe the current surge in prices.
