Ashley Willing and Simon King, managers of Gartmore Investment Management's UK Focus fund, will run Gartmore's fifth member of the AlphaGen hedge fund stable. Lyxor Asset Management, a subsidiary of Société Générale, has seeded the UK long/short equity fund with $10m (€11m).

Lyxor, sub-advisor to the Pioneer Alternative Strategies Fund, also seeded AlphaGen Cepheus. The European small-cap hedge fund run by Jonathan Sharpe now has some $100m under management.
