Winton names executives to lead spun-out data unit

Hivemind is one of a number of innovative data projects the hedge fund manager is working on

Winton, the $30bn quant hedge fund founded by billionaire David Harding, has named the executive team that will lead Hivemind Technologies, the data-science unit it set up as a separate company last year.

Daniel Mitchell, who was director of data at Winton, has become Hivemind’s chief executive, the company said in a statement.
