Short-seller Fraser Perring has launched High Court proceedings against law firm Jones Day and investigation agency Kroll over their work for collapsed payments firm Wirecard.

Perring, co-founder of short-seller Viceroy Research, is alleging Jones Day and Kroll Associates UK misused his private information according to a 5 June court filing. He told Financial News he will also claim damages from Jones Day and Kroll as part of his full complaint against the pair, which he said would be filed shortly.
