Government chief economist job fails to attract women applicants

Three-quarters of the people vying to be the government’s next chief economist are men, making it the latest top public sector financial job that has failed to attract an even gender split.

Of the 26 people who applied to be the Treasury’s chief economic advisor, 19 identified as men, according to data disclosed to Financial News under the Freedom of Information Act.
