More than half the firms that promised to boost gender diversity in their senior ranks by 2020 failed, and include some of the world’s largest banks, accounting firms and asset managers.

The firms made the pledge as part of the Women in Finance Charter but missed their targets, the charter’s review has found, as the Covid-19 pandemic hampered the City’s ability to recruit.
