Women working in financial services in the UK capital are paid nearly a third less than their male counterparts, a ratio which has not changed in the past four years, according to a report commissioned by the Mayor of London.

A report commissioned by Mayor Ken Livingstone and carried out by the Greater London Authority, showed the "disappointing" figures which haven't changed since 2004. Among the top 10% of earners, which the GLA say is made up of financial services workers, there is a 32% pay gap between men and women compared with only 21% overall in the UK.
