Female executives remain underrepresented at the top of financial institutions, despite many of the world's biggest banks employing more women than men.

This is according to the latest Women in Finance survey by the index provider and research company MSCI, which looked at data from 91 institutions to determine whether they were making the most of their talent supplies.
