Neil Woodford and Craig Newman, his business partner and chief executive at Woodford Investment Management, have flown to China for talks about a potential new venture.

The pair are speaking to local investors who are interested in early-stage assets, according to a person familiar with the situation. Woodford also had similar meetings in the Middle East earlier in the year, he added.
