St James’s Place has sacked Neil Woodford from managing more than £3bn of investment funds for the wealth manager, heaping further pressure on the renowned UK stock picker just days after he suspended trading in his biggest fund.

In a notification to the stock market on June 5, St James’s Place announced it had terminated its mandate with Woodford Investment Management and replaced the fund manager with rivals Columbia Threadneedle and RWC Partners.
