Woodford trust steps up controls following fund suspension

Woodford Patient Capital Trust has also brought in an industry veteran to oversee its risk committee

The listed investment trust run by Neil Woodford has tightened its controls and made board changes in response to shareholder pressure following the closure of the fund manager’s flagship fund.

The moves are aimed at protecting the Woodford Patient Capital Trust from a similar fate to the £3.7bn Equity Income fund, which was suspended earlier this month while it sold off assets in order to meet redemption requests.
