BNP Paribas hands investment bank chief Gérardin a promotion

At French bank, deputy-COO role comes with a seat at the company’s top executive table

BNP Paribas has given an additional operational role to long-serving investment bank chief Yann Gérardin — an extra responsibility that gives him a seat on the firm’s top executive committee for the first time.

Gérardin, who has worked at BNP Paribas since 1987 and led its corporate and institutional bank for the past four years, has taken up the additional role of deputy chief operating officer for the division.
