‘You don’t look like a solicitor’: How I. Stephanie Boyce overcame prejudice to become the Law Society’s first Black president
Boyce was the first person of colour to lead the Law Society in its almost 200-year history. As she steps down, she reflects on how diversity has defined her career
On her penultimate day as president of the Law Society of England and Wales, I. Stephanie Boyce is feeling mixed emotions.
“It’s bittersweet”, the society’s first Black leader says. “There’s a sadness at coming to the end, but also the joy of recognition as to what we’ve achieved.”
