Younger than 25? The government will still pay your wages in November

The government has spent £35.4bn on furloughed workers. From November, only £2bn will be available and only for young people

Prime Minister Boris Johnson reiterated that the government will soon stop paying the wages of millions of furloughed workers, but he did announce a job-creation scheme for 16-24 year olds.

The government is launching a £2bn scheme, dubbed "Kickstart", that will pay the wages of young people on six-month placements. All employers will be able to get the government to pay for newly created roles, including national insurance contributions and minimum pension contributions.
