Zurich Financial's asset management arm posts profit

Zurich Financial Services' asset management operations returned to profit in 2002 with a $24m profit, having posted a $39m (€36m) loss in 2001.

The marked improvement was a result of Zurich selling Zurich Scudder Investments - excluding Threadneedle Investments in the UK and all asset management operations in Italy and Germany - to Deutsche Bank in May 2002.
