Barclays CEO says diversity commitment ‘unwavering’ amid pressure from US government

Large investment banks have so far resisted pressure to dial back on diversity targets

Barclays’ chief executive said the bank has an “enduring and unwavering” commitment to inclusion, as back executives continue to push back against pressure to roll back diversity programmes.

C. S. Venkatakrishnan said that he wants Barclays to be a “meritocratic” organisation where people can develop their careers.
